About

Oakridge is a marvel in many ways, and that’s exactly how designer Arthur Hills wanted it to be. After his success with The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s Palmetto course, Hills was asked to design a unique experience for Landings golfers. The result? Oakridge. Oakridge’s length is moderate, but Hills’ use of water, bunkers, marsh, and his famous split-level fairways makes this course one of the sportiest on the island. The course is also marked with a little bit of history. The 15th hole, known locally as “the Cemetery,” looks over Waters Cemetery, a U.S. archaeological site. This is where Alice “Elcy” Waters, wife of John Waters, a prominent planter and landowner, and her son Thomas reside in perpetuity.
