The Landings Golf & Athletic Club christened its second course, Magnolia, in 1977. The course was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. Those that have played Magnolia say its front nine challenges even the best golfer, particularly those who play from the Championship or Tournament tees. The back nine offers some respite, but not much. Its twists and turns require focus, and six holes feature water obstacles. Regardless, the course is fun to play, and the 18th hole features a lagoon that wraps around its elevated green. A major renovation project was completed in 2001 to improve playability, drainage, update the irrigation system, install concrete cart paths, and add a fifth set of tees.
